Jane was a single mother dealing with life and while her young one was now going into kindergarten she meets a friend names Madeline and another one who has a daughter of the same age. Madeline has a friend that Jane meets later and Celeste has two twins’ sons. All three of these women have their own problems. Madeline faces resentment everyday as she sees that her daughter is growing closer to the new wife of her ex-husband while Celeste is physically abused by her husband, a rich banker. Jane is trying to find the father of her child.
The three immediately strike a friendship, but the consequences do not turn up very well. As the time passes they grow closer and tell each other about their lives; when Jane shares how she met the father of her child the other two realize who the father is but they keep it from Jane for the time being. The situation turns dire when the three accidently commit a murder. The novel was published in 2015 and is a New York Times best seller.
