Review:
This one here is the winner of the Pulitzer Prize and winner in my list of books that I would recommend anyone. It’s a heart breaker, a soul shaker and absolutely beautiful tale, with which I am personally in love in; this has to be the best book of the author Anthony Doerr. The story is of a blind girl and a German boy who are brought together by fate in devastation of WWII.
Marie used to live with her father in Paris. He worked as the master of thousands of locks of the Museum of Natural History. When Marie grew six of age she went blind due to a certain illness and her father does effort for her by building her a miniature of the neighborhood, she memorizes it and that helps her find her way home. Later on when WWII breaks out both father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo; she is twelve at that time. The father and daughter carry a precious jewel from the museum and is lethal to their safety.
Meanwhile the boy in Germany who lives in a mining town, discovers a radio; he delves in and finds the thing really interesting. Werner becomes an expert at fixing the technology, and this talent wins him a seat at an academy for Hitler youth. Eventually going through the very heart of war, he is directed towards Saint-Malo, the two youths meet there.
